eBOOK RELEASE DATE: DECEMBER 27, 2013

ENTER GIVEAWAY

I’m giving away one (1) eARC of either Cupcakes, Trinkets, and Other Deadly Magic or Trinkets, Treasures, and Other Bloody Magic to celebrate the cover reveal and release date announcement.

In the comments below, tell me:

  1. Which ebook you want to win? Cupcakes (Etc) aka Dowser #1 or Trinkets (Etc) aka Dowser #2.
  2. What is your favourite trinket? I adore a Norwegian wood bracelet that a friend gave me for my birthday years ago. I actually need to replace the elastic I’ve worn it so much. The wood warms, like pearls do. I love that!
  3. Make sure you fill your email address into the blog comment form.

Yup, it’s that easy. Contest open internationally, of course. I’ll select winners by random number generator after 12noon PST on Friday, December 6, 2013.

  1. Yay! I am beyond excited to see the cover and learn the release date!! I would love love LOVE to win a copy of Trinkets, Treasures, and Other Bloody Magic (Dowser, #2)

My favorite trinket is a rock (likely a piece of granite) that I purchased 16 years ago in Prague: A dear friend of mine had just died of an aneurysm at the age of 23 and I was devastated. The rock is white with dark discolorations and a gash. It has a hole in it so it can be worn as a necklace, and when I purchased it it was hanging on a black leather cord. For me, the necklace symbolized my friend’s death (the black leather) but that eventually I would heal from his loss and be able to carry his memory forward. The white rock at the end of the cord symbolized the continuing of life, while the discolorations meant that that life would be forever changed for the worse due to his loss, which is represented by the gash.

I wore the rock every day for most of the last 16 years, first on the black leather cord, and later on a sterling silver chain I had purchased to wear in conjunction with the leather, so that when the leather broke I wouldn’t lose the rock. Thankfully, when the leather broke I noticed it and was able to save it: it now is attached to a framed picture of my friend. Recently, the silver chain also broke, and I haven’t yet been able to get it repaired. While I can’t wear the rock any longer, I do carry it with me everywhere I go. And, of course, the memory of my friend is still strong.

I follow you on Twitter, have liked you and shared this page on Facebook, and I’m already subscribed to your new release e-mail list. I have a WordPress account, so I liked this post, but I’m not a blogger (only a follower) so I can’t share via that method.

Thanks for offering this giveaway! I’m so happy to see the cover (it looks both magical and scary! I hope Jade is and will be okay!) and to learn the release date. I’m really looking forward to next week’s excerpt #1, too. 🙂

  2. I am so happy about the release date, looking so forward to it . Loved the first one and can’t wait for the second one. I would’ve to win an arc. The cover looks awesome

  3. I would love Cupcakes etc. Dowser 1 series please 🙂
I love pens. Is there a specific Norwegan pen? If so I am so in!!!
    Love you!
Will psot everywhere (website under maintenance right now:)

    1. Thanks for entering (and pimping me everywhere – LOL), Kelly!! I have curbed my love of new pens by working almost exclusively with a fountain pen. Now I buy ink!!

  4. My favourite trinket is a plain dangly wooden keep fob, it reminds me of my Cat Ding, who loved playing with it. He used to run around my flat with the keys jangling away, bit of a pain when I was looking for them though.

  5. I can’t wait to read #2!

My favorite trinket is a pendant that used to belong to my mom. It is hammered silver, and in an abstract shape reminiscent of a mysterious arcane symbol that doesn’t actually exist. 😛 To me it is a little magical, in the way objects are that always make us think of people we love, even when they are no longer with us.
