I’m slightly delayed in sharing, but Gertie made these gorgeous classic chocolate cupcakes with coffee buttercream frosting to help celebrate the release of Trinkets (Etc).

OH my mother of pearl!!! that looks soooooo good and I don’t even like chocolate. it’s just that icing!!!!! I think I would need a finger bowl while eating and reading trinkets (which is AWESOME, by the way.) or I would have coffee buttercream all over my ipad. And a bald cup in a cake. ❤️
I KNOW!!! I already think of cake as an icing delivery system, I’d be in BIG trouble around Gertie’s house!!

Haha! This recipe always makes WAY too much frosting; I have never been able to decide if it is a good or a bad thing. I was just swinging by here to grab the Solace in a Cup recipe to share with a friend, mmm! I want to make them soon. (By the way, I am at 46% in Trinkets, and still trying *not* to do that thing where I read too fast because I get into the story. It’s like some of us need a rationing plan with certain books.)
Gertie – you have more willpower than me – I never ration books. I just read them again and again!! I’m going to repost the Cozy’s here this week and the Serenity’s next week I think. Then I need to come up with some new recipes for the third book (which I’m working on today and for the rest of Jan/Feb/Mar!!) Let me know if you and/or your friend make the Solace’s … I think the recipe might still need a bit of tweaking in order to be more than just good.

I will definitely let you know about the cupcakes. What do you think could be better about them? I am just waiting for an opportunity to make them so I don’t eat them all myself, lol. My co-workerd don’t deserve them but maybe I’ll make them some anyway… 😛
I’m not sure otherwise I would have done it … maybe the whole wheat flour just doesn’t work with these ones?? Maybe just unbleached? But then they might be too bland for me … hmmm, I’m just difficult to please. Everyone else thought they were good.
