The bracelet seen above – one of my favourite ‘trinkets’ – is my version of a white-picket fence. I commissioned it years ago from a silversmith on Etsy.
To enter the paperback giveaway comment below and let me know:
- What is your favourite ‘trinket’? And why?
ETA: I removed the bonus entry because it was too confusing as to what ‘newsletter’ I meant. And I was spending too much time ‘verifying’ it. Time I should be spending writing Oracle 3. 🙂 I just wanted to add a bonus to everyone signed up for MONTHLY newsletter. I’ll try to figure out something else exclusive next month. My apologies.
Notes/Rules: OPEN INTERNATIONALLY. Each comment will be assigned an entry number. ONE winning entry will then be selected via random number generator. One entry per person (plus bonus). Please make sure to fill out a valid email address in the comment form. Email addresses are not collected for any purpose other than notifying the contest winner.
If you haven’t commented on the blog before, or you comment from a different IP address, the comments are moderated. So don’t worry if you don’t see your entry right away. I will approve it, then assign it an entry number.
Contest closes FRIDAY, JUNE 10, 2016 at 8 p.m. PDT.

My favorite trinket is a heart necklace my daughter got me for Christmas a few years at a ago. I’m a subscriber of your newsletter.
My favorite would probably be a snowflake necklace …perfect and familiar for a meteorologist/hydrologist. Yes, have subscribed. Nice job with the 1st edition.
My favorite *trinket* would have to be this silver bracelet with green and silver stones on it. Is a wide bracelet and a dainty one. Is my favorite because whenever I wear it I feel empowered. I know is not the actual bracelet but that’s how I feel when I wear it lol. I’ve had it for about 15 years now 😊 and i just signed up for the news letter 😁
Of course I signed up!!! my favorite trinket would have to be the multi colored cross necklace my husband got me for Christmas years ago.
Love love love the newsletter! A great (easy) format. The pictures make it very eye catching. Well done you!

Thanks, Cindy! I felt the pictures were an important element. 🙂
My favorite trinket is a heart shaped necklace that my husband bought me for Christmas shortly after we got together, it is one of the only things I’ve managed to hold on to through out the years. I’m a subscriber 🙂
My favorite trinket is a necklace that my husband gave me for Christmas the year our son was born. It has our 3 birthstones incorporated in it. I’m a subscriber to your newsletter! 🙂
My favorite trinket would be a necklace I received for Mother’s Day. It represents our family. I am signed up for the newsletter. I enjoy your books. Thank you!
My favorite trinket is my necklace my father gave me three months before he passed away. I was 15 and I’ve never taken it off……it says: Live, Love, Laugh. I’ve tried to love by those words my entire adult life
Thanks Meghan for all the entertaining escapes you give us,
Johanna
My favorite trinket – currently – is a necklace gifted from my husband and son. Newsletter and fb subscribed for sure!
My favorite “trinket” are probably my diamond earrings my hubby got me…..one for my birthday (2 days b4 Christmas) and one for Christmas!! 🙂 I never take them off. And, of course, I get your newsletter! 🙂
My favourite trinket is a heart on a bracelet that has my son’s hand and foot engraved with his name and a kiss on the other side. He’s only 10 months old. And is the reason I’m behind on my reading 😢
I do subscribe to the email.
My favourite thing…right now is a old piece of Limoges . It’s in a shape of a peacock. It’s been in my family for three generations . It’s been to Germany ,Spain ,India ,Wales ,South Africa and now Canada . I often wonder where it’s been and what it’s heard . Also I’ve signed up for your newsletter . On a side note ” do you ever have issue with other author having similar storylines”
Hmmm, I’ve never noticed having an issue with other authors having similar storylines. Not any I read at least. But the urban fantasy genre in general does mine from a similar background of creatures and magic, etc.
Mm I found three one Canadian . I wonder how your protecting your intectual property.
Authors that you think are plagiarizing my books? All my work is copy written.
Hmm, my favorite trinket is probably the silver key necklace that I have. A local artist works chainmail and created a lovely link from the key to the chain – it stood out on display as a reminder of Hekate (a goddess I’m dedicated to), as well as serving as a constant reminder that I already bear the key – both to open and close the doors around me.
And I should be signed up for the newsletter. I didn’t receive this weeks – maybe I didn’t confirm the subscription like I thought I had previously, though I did double check and am confirmed now.
Did you get your hands on it anyway? I answered one of your questions.
I have yet to see it 🙁
Oh, it won’t go out a second time (if you weren’t signed up by 8am this morning.) But I shared it on my facebook page as well, so I thought you might have seen it there.
I have an angel with my birthstone my now 36 year old son bought me with his allowance money when he was 10!
I don’t have a charm bracelet but if I did my favorite charm would be a book because since I was a child I would escape into a book. I’ve loved reading ever since.
My favorite trinket is a necklace that is a letter J. It was my grandmother’s and we share the same middle name, Jean. She actually went by that even thought it was her middle name.
My necklace made with moonstone made for me by my mother’s best friend, who has ovarian cancer.
My favorite trinket was a pearl ring that my Grandma had made after she had found the pearl in a oyster she had harvested. The setting was odd and it looked so silly we called it the bubblegum ring because it looked so fake but it meant so much tome because it was hers.
My favorite trinket is a necklace I had made with my children’s name on it. My youngest, who is 7 now, still plays with it every time I wear it.
This is so much fun! I’m looking forward to your newsletter every month!
My favorite trinket is a i had made after my husband passed away. It’s a silver heart with his birthstone and wedding ring finger print. Then I had our wedding date engraved on the back. I wear all the time.
Honestly? My favorite “trinket” is probably my wedding band! It’s a slim eternity band, simple and pretty. Second to my wedding band is my mother’s necklace, which has a green stone and a pearl, plus two leaves with the first initials of my two sweet sons’ names. They were both due in June (birthstone pearl) but born in May (emerald).
A simple silver ring I took off of my boyfriend’s finger when we first started dating. I used to wear it as a thumb ring, but I’ve lost a lot of weight and wear it on a chain now. It was a hard time of my life and he helped me find strength to not just get through it, but to come out the other side a badass. Anytime I feel less than in control, my hand automatically reaches for the ring and I feel centered. We’ve been together for about 10 years now, so I’m rather attached.
My favorite “trinkets” are the wedding ring set my mother wore when she was married to my father. I keep them put up so I don’t lose them, but I somehow still managed to lose them for a few years, and just found them a year ago after moving.
My favourite trinket is a simple gold and crystal heart shaped necklace my hubby brought me two Christmases ago, on the card he wrote ‘You’ve always had my heart, so now I give it to you too’ Made me cry even after 29 3/4 years together 😀
Love the website! I did sign up!!
My favorite trinket would have to be a saint christopher’s medal that belonged to my grandmother. I have it hanging in my car so it goes with me always.
My favorite trinket is a sterling silver bracelet with sun charms to represent my sunny blond-haired, blue-eyed son, and apple charms to represent my daughter (her initials being APL). Looking forward to the newsletter. Just finished Dowser 6 last night! 🙂
My favorite trinket is a silver bracelet with bear fetishes. I love it but it has a funky clasp and I am always scared to wear it and lose it. I should take it to a jeweler and have it fixed but it is never at the top of my to-do-list. Someday…
My favorite trinket is a silver and black gem treble clef necklace. I got it in honor of my late husband who was a musician (played piano). I am a subscriber.
I signed up as soon as I received the email saying you were making a newsletter. My trinket is a crystal with a dragon wrapped around on a leather cord that my wife made for me for my birthday last year!
My trinket would be a tiny silver bell which I treasure as a good luck charm. It’s in my bag, 24/7.
I have a pair of Celtic earrings that are a great favourite.

My favorite trinket is a little locket with several protective stones and gems in it. I put it on a keychain and carry it everywhere. It helps protect and ground me.
Lucky #32!!! Emailing you now. 🙂
Congrats!!
My favorite trinket is a pair of delicate gold earrings my Grandmother wore every day for 40 years till she passed away.
My favorite is a necklace made of moldavite, amethyst, and a small crystal.
my favorite trinket i my moms first wedding ring form my dad
I actually don’t own any trinkets. I can’t wear anything but pure gold and my fingers have swollen too much to wear my wedding bands even so I don’t have any right now lol. I would love one of Jade’s though!
My favorite trinket is the necklace I always wear. It has the two go-ens (5 yen) I received from Cascades Drum and Bugle Corp for being a member of the percussion section on it.
One of my favorite trinkets is a copper bracelet stamped with the word namaste and adorned with an ocean jasper bead.
My favorite trinket is a small ladybug pin I have kept for years. It’s special to me due to my moms nickname was ladybug. I just hold it sometimes while I read or watch tv. Its comforting to be reminded of her.
My favorite trinket is the ring I inherited from my grandmother! It’s like having apiece of her with me.
