I’m making this tidbit of sunshine my desktop photo for the day – aka a little yellow daffodil that has braved the still-chilly morning temps to bloom – because I’m about to do a second pass on Kandy’s second short, In Less Than A Moment. And I know I’m going to blubber through it. Again.
I’ll just keep reminding myself that Kandy has found her pack, her family. Not that life is ever without strife but it can be filled with love and laughter at the same time.

In other news, I’m (slowly) putting together a Frequently Asked Questions, Spring Edition blog post so if you have any burning questions – LOL – drop them in the comments below and I’ll add them to the list (as long as it’s not too rife with spoilers).
Your gloves are super cute! Love daffodils!
Getting really worn now, but yes. Some of my fav yarn! Sweet Fiber worsted (merino/cashmere).
That is a beautiful picture
🙂
My question is about the clear demarcation between the adepts and the mundanes. I’m wondering if we will see in your books a cooperative interaction between the two. Are there not mundane families that have historically had knowledge and relationships with the mundanes? There have been characters who are part human and part witch for example. There seems to be on the part of the adepts a respectful paternalistic distance between the two worlds. Will you ever write about how this balance developed and the trials and tribulations that allowed these two worlds to coexist?
I’ve been rereading the series, as I do, and I came across Jade thinking she was the only child of a guardian (that she knew of). Now we know, thanks to the Archivist, she isn’t. It had me thinking about who Drake’s parents are (probably a spoiler, doesn’t seeeem to be a guardian, buuuuut…….). And that got me thinking about how each of the dragons lay claim to who is and is not in their generation.
It is personal preference who a dragon will acknowledge as part of their generation or is it political? What are the benefits of being considered part of the same generation?
Does Drake consider Sisu as part of his generation? I think the age difference between Jade and Drake is about the same between Drake and Sisu, which is interesting.
The foundation of your world is so well described in the books, it feels like so much is behind the scenes it’s easy enough to fill the space with more life. Thank you for sharing this wonderful world with us!
I think I might have missed Kandy’s first short. Where can I find it? Thank you for all your words
You had to have been subscribed to my mailing list to get it. But no worries, I’ll eventually bundle them all and make them available on all retailers.
OH I thought of a good question!
I know you said Jade would probably never meet the Five. However, if she did, what would each of their magics taste like?
Thank you again so much for sharing this world with us!
