GIVEAWAY CLOSED. WINNERS: Cori from Texas, Deb from the UK, and Janine from Pennsylvania! Congrats!
To recap a third time. I had fifteen misprinted paperbacks. The covers of the paperbacks were all oddly tinted to various degrees with pink and red. And, in a few, the top and bottom margins shift down or up around the halfway point. Since I’m a fan of decluttering, I thought I should give these ‘rarities’ away.
I given away eleven so far.
I’ll autograph and label the books as misprints. I’ll even throw in an I See Me postcard and some butterfly tattoos.
Would you like one of THREE chances to own one of these misprinted, but still pretty, Oracle 1 paperbacks?
Then #1. Comment on this blog post with your favourite quote from I See Me (Oracle 1).
And #2. Tell me why it’s your favourite quote.
Remembering #3. To include your email address in the comment form so I can contact you.
OPEN INTERNATIONALLY. Giveaway closes 9 a.m. PDT Saturday, April 18, 2015. Each entry will be assigned a number, and THREE winners will be selected by random number generator.
May the random number generator be in your favour!
“I can’t figure out if Desmond is totally pissed at Jade or really likes her,” I whispered to Beau.
“Both,” he whispered back.
Love Jade and Desmond and this is classic to their relationship!
Entry #1!! It was really interesting to write Jade (et al) from Rochelle’s POV. I’m looking forward to digging into Oracle 2 next month.
I really enjoyed the whole book! But in love jade and Desmond and their “conversations”
I actually had to cut a huge part of the scene that involved D&J … it was starting to read like their book ‘as told by’ Rochelle. They had a lot to hash out!!
Yes they do! Just started to re-reads book 4 and can see it’s going to take them awhile.. But I love all the characters and their dynamics!
‘he reached across the table and – barely touching me – turned my left hand over until the back rested on the table. With a touch so light that I felt only shiver of its passing, he brushed his fingers across the black butterfly I had tattooed on the inside of my wrist. “Rochelle”, he murmured. “Who are you?”
Rochelle and Beau, first touch.
Entry #2 – SQUEEE!!! I love, love, love this moment. So MUCH going on for Beau here that we can only guess at – we will get to know more about him in Oracle 2. And the butterfly!!
Can’t wait!
“If we can’t have Paris,” Desmond said. “At least we’ll always have Blackwell.”
Love Jade and Desmond they could be so amazing together- wish he could take a step back and see her as a person and not a tool for the pack
Entry #3 – Desmond is first and foremost the Alpha of a pack. I might not have made this explicit in the books yet – because everything is through Jade’s POV and we know she only pays attention to things that interest her (or Rochelle’s newbie POV) – but a ‘cat’ leading a pack that used to be only wolves and now is ‘mixed’ is a very delicate position. Desmond comes from shapeshifter royalty (see his phone conversation in Dowser 2) and has A LOT of expectations placed on him. We must listen to Kandy’s counsel when it comes to Desmond.:(
“It’s broken,” I said. “It’s broken like I am.” It’s the first time she expresses how she feels out loud to someone. And Jade tells her she’s not broken.
Entry #4 – My heart just broke when I wrote this (and each time I rewrote and edited it). Jade’s response is so fantastic (so ‘her’).
This one bit brought me to tears… It reflected so much of what I’ve dealt with over the years, I knew exactly how Rochelle felt and how depressing it is to feel that way and how much it hurts to admit it to someone else. Jade handled the situation perfectly and it allowed me to see one more piece of her. I also liked that she yelled at Desmond for it, even though I didn’t catch anything in there that pointed to him having done anything.
Poor Desmond. Jade just assumed he’d been nasty. But yeah, that part killed me every time, chest pains/suppressed tears and everything. Gah! Good turning point for Rochelle though. Admitting to the pain releases a little bit of it somehow … for me at at least.
I dont have a favorite quote from the book : I see me, BUT I must tell you I bought books 1,2,3 AND 4 of Cupcake, trinkets series and have read them all 4 books in 4 days! I really love them. I would like to win this one because I want to read your other books 🙂
Hi! thanks for dropping by to comment. This series of giveaways has been very slanted toward readers who have read certain books. The last one was just for Dowser 1, the two before that were for any of the four books, and the one next week is only for Dowser 3. But I promise I will have more giveaways that don’t have any entry ‘requirements.’ This had just been a fun, different way for me to give away books. Please comment on the giveaway next Friday as well.
So glad you like the Dowser Series! 4 books in 4 days is crazy! LOL Though I’ve done it myself.
Yes. Daughter of Jane Hawthorne, the Oracle of Philadelphia, and Kai Lei, a sorcerer of Hong Kong.
The bottom dropped out of my stomach. Or maybe that was what it felt like when a long -lost fragment of your life snapped into place.
I love Chi Wen and I loved that he was able to give her a tiny insight about her parents.
Entry #5 – Chi Wen rocks. Unless, of course, he tells you you’re going to die. I love writing him!!
I like too much of the book to narrow it down to just one quote, and a lot of my favorites have already been posted, so I’m going to post 2 bits from the same conversation…
“Luck is capricious. It demands a sacrifice. Magic moves where it will, not where we wish it.” – Chi Wen
I like this bit because it serves a good reminder that just because we want something bad enough, doesn’t mean that it’s actually something that’s good for us – or that the Universe is just going to heed our will all of the time.
Bonus: “Ah, here comes the boy. Good. I’m hungry, and you have cookies.” – Chi Wen
It’s a good “humanizing” effect. Just because someone has a title, or is of a certain species doesn’t mean that they aren’t also a person. Also – cookies. Also that cookies are totally a valid choice when one is hungry. 😀

LOL, cookies – yes! Entry #6. I was going to comment much, much more here … but SPOILERS! I need to keep my mouth shut. I forget that technically Oracle 2 is still in my head.
I had a tattoo of barbed wire with various things snagged in the spikes running up my left arm. The things were eclectic -keys, spiders.. Even a black and white Canadian flag.
I loved this visual of a tattoo charm bracelet, it gave you insight into her psyche. Foster kids feel as if they have nothing permanent so it was a way for her to have memories no one could take from her.
Entry #7 – indeed! The tattoos definitely help make Rochelle feel in control of what happens to her.
I kept my eyes glued to the wolves. “They found you, didn’t they?”
“Indeed. But they came without the warrior’s daughter.” The sorcerer laughed. “I’m oddly disappointed.”
“You’re insane.” “Aren’t we all?” Blackwell intrigues me. No idea why.
Entry #8 ! 💐
“So I should trust you over them,” I said. “Because you hide your monster beneath human skin?”
“No. You should trust me because I don’t pretend to be anything different than what I am.”
Looking forward to learning more about Rochelle’s story. Her view of Blackwell is interesting…
Hi Sherri – this giveaway closed at 9am this morning. You will see I put that in bold at the very top of the post – sorry! Next giveaway is next Friday 🙂 Thanks for commenting though.
