Giveaway: Carol Ann Newsome

GIVEAWAY CLOSED. Winner TBA

I had great fun in Chicago and sharing a booth at The Bookcon 2016 with Carol Ann Newsome who writes the Lia Anderson Dog Park Mysteries. So, of course, I bought all her paperbacks and had her autograph them for me.

Pretty paperbacks from C.A. Newsome
Then I convinced her to give away her first two paperbacks – A Shot in the Bark and Drool Baby – to a lucky reader of this blog. Whoot!

FYI – The ebook for A Shot in the Bark is also available for free on Amazon, iTunes, B&N, and Kobo. Then, if you sign up for Carol Ann’s mailing list, she will send you the second book for free as well!!

Carol Ann with GypsyC. A. (Carol Ann) Newsome writes the Lia Anderson Dog Park Mysteries, a series of fun, romantic suspense/mystery novels inspired by and centered around her mornings at the Mount Airy Dog Park with two former street urchins named Shadda and Chewy (Chewbacca Wonderpup, Master of Confusion), along with a furry piranha named Gypsy Foo la Beenz (see picture at left).

A life-long lover of fiction, Carol turned to books and audiobooks during her decade-long recovery from a head injury. Years of immersing herself in popular fiction lead to imagining the book she wanted to read, and wondering if she could  write it. The result was the first book in her mystery series. You can find out more about Carol on her website or Facebook page.

  1. I love DOGS … my two are mutts but I think they are pretty awesome!
but if I could have a pure breed dog … my dream dog is, and has been since I was a little girl, Irish Wolfhound … they are so magestic and lovely

  2. I’m so excited; I love the Dog Park books.
My favorite breed is the Doberman Pinscher. Many people think they are big, bad dogs and that’s OK with me. They do love their family , but the will accept you in just like family. They are loyal, loving, graceful, elegant clowns! We have had at least one rescued Dobie in our family since 1980!

  3. My favorite breed… wow… tough one. But I’d have to say Collies. They are happy, joyful, devoted, opinionated (and you’re going to hear their opinions whether you want to or not…) and protective. Border Collie would be second (love watching them work livestock!) … Golden Retriever third. Mutts and shelter rescues really top the list though. I am thrilled that mine is both… a Collie from a shelter!

  4. My favourite dog breed is Yorkshire Terrier .. we have had 5 in the past few years and are now the proud parents of 3 🙂 I posted a picture of our youngest JellyBeean on Carol Newsome’s A Shot in the Bark facebook page.

    1. I forgot to say why I love Yorkies … they are fun bundles of fluff – intelligent and loving.

  5. Labs! They tend to be very good family dogs. We’ve had 3 and each one was sweeter than the previous. The one we have now is Dillon and he thinks he’s a small lap dog who should always be allowed to lay sprawled across my legs, be able to curl up next to one of us for hugs and cuddles in bed, and go for rides in the car as soon as anyone heads that way. I also like English cocker spanials. We had a real sweety. Cory’s only bad habit was rolling in ucky stuff. My husband joked it was so we’d stop wanting to hold and hug him.

BTW, I’m in the middle of reading Dowser #6 and really like it!

  6. My favorite breed is Doberman 😊 They’re my favorite because they’re bursting with personality. They’re beautiful dogs, they look regal and noble, until the move and they’re klutzes. They’re also major goofballs!

  7. I love all dogs but my favorite is the Australian Cattle dog, aka Blue or Red Heeler. They are very loyal, loving and intelligent dogs with lots of energy plus their coloring is really cool. I have two, both adopted from shelters. They keep me active and tend to be velcro dogs which I love.

  8. My favorite dogs are Yorkies, dachshunds, golden retriever, and pit bulls. To me dogs are the most intelligent of the house pets. They are also very emotional and very strong. I’ve seen abused dogs after they have been rescued bounced back after yrs of abuse.

  9. I really like huskies because they are just so gorgeous. And chow chows. They are beyond gorgeous. And they are so protective. I personally don’t have dogs but I like in a tiny studio apartment.

  10. In my area my dog´s breed is vera lata which means one who runs and turns over trash cans. My street dog has the breed vera lata, or simply mut. She is smart, fast and so full of love for everyone.
