  1. My favorite quote is the ending: “I didn’t want to be a vampire. The idea was abhorrent to me. I’d been running from that kind of darkness since I was sixteen. But if that was the case, then why wasn’t I afraid?”

  2. “Thankfully, there were no demons or blood-crazed sisters to be reconstructed in the Capilano View Cemetery in West Vancouver.”

  3. I lifted my chin, walking toward him and out the door when he opened it. He wanted to play games, did he? He’d find that difficult with me. I took no chances. I made no bets. I’d been foolish and weak once, and I’d paid for my folly. I had lost everyone I thought I loved, and one of the two people in this world who actually loved me back.

I enjoy backstories of characters and I was so very pleased to be able to understand a little bit of the why’s of Wisteria. And this one too, that she can feel joy and magic.

I gasped, drawing Pearl’s attention. The elder witch smiled, then returned her attention to Jade. The dowser was piping thick chocolate icing onto some sort of chocolate cupcake. Her movements were minimal and precise, yet I could feel the magic dancing around her without even opening my witch senses to it. Normally, feeling magic unintentionally sent me into a tailspin and heading toward the nearest exit. Adepts who boiled with so much power that I couldn’t shield myself from them were dangerous. But the magic Jade commanded while baking was uplifting and comforting.

    I couldn’t pick just one. 💕

  4. “I won’t let you bite me. ”
“You will,” he said. “When the time comes, you will lift your hair from your neck of your own free will, of your own desire. You will align yourself with me, Wisteria Fairchild. I am your doom and your salvation.”
    Absolutely love this!

  5. “When the time comes, you will lift your hair from your neck of your own free will, of your own desire. You will align yourself with me, Wisteria Fairchild. I am your doom and your salvation.”

  6. I don’t have a particular quote… and reading some of those already posted were hinting at parts further in the book than my current place… so I can’t linger here! However, I think the phrase that keeps intriguing me is Kett referring to Wisteria as ‘witch’. I keep trying to hear the tone he is using each time he says it. Always the same? Sometimes respectful, sometimes snarky? Hmmmm…..

  7. From the sample chapter my favourite line is the very first one “I preferred it when life came in tidy packages.” I’m really looking forward to reading more of your books, I’m on oracle 2 now.

  8. A white-blond, blue-eyed, exceedingly pale, tremendously powerful vampire who I’d thought was dead. Well, more dead.

  9. I know it’s been said before but “When the time comes, you will lift your hair from your neck of your own free will, of your own desire. You will align yourself with me, Wisteria Fairchild. I am your doom and your salvation.” 💗 That has stuck with me this whole time. Can’t wait to see what happens next!!

  10. Kett was smiling. Actually smiling. Not smirking, not curling his lip, but a full-on, joyful, thrilled smile.

    — I absolutely loved this part of the book! Kett having a blast kicking zombie butt made my freakin day!

  11. I have not had a chance to read the book yet, so I downloaded the sample. I liked this quote, ‘“A pencil?” Dalton echoed. “Someone killed a vampire with a pencil?”’

  12. “Out of all the Adepts in this graveyard, maybe I was the weakest in spirit”.” I love ❤️ this story and can’t wait to continue with the adventure. Thanks Meghan

  13. “You will stay out of my head,” I blurted. “I will.” “I won’t let you bite me.” Kett raised his silver-blue eyes to meet my gaze. His smirk widened into a grin, revealing his impossibly white, impossibly straight teeth. “You will,” he said. “When the time comes, you will lift your hair from your neck of your own free will, of your own desire. You will align yourself with me, Wisteria Fairchild. I am your doom and your salvation.”

I wanted to copy and paste the entire book, but settled for this quote instead. Much shorter, you see.

  14. “An acknowledgement that you are more than I took you for, magically and psychologically. That you are…deserving of my attention”

The innuendo in that line is steamy!

  15. “The fact that you ensnared me shows me there was a reason to panic”.

I’d let Kettil ensnare me ANY DAY … 😍😍😍

  16. “An acknowledgement that you are more than I took you for, magically and psychologically. That you are…deserving of my attention.”

Feel like this lime has so much potential foreshadowing!
