Archivist 2: release day giveaway

GIVEAWAY CLOSED! Lucky #70 has been emailed.

Happy Release Day, Compelling Infinity (Archivist 2)!!!! I hope you all enjoy the next chapter in Dusk and Sisu’s adventures!

As is my tradition, I’ve put together a fun giveaway to help celebrate the release of Compelling Infinity (Archivist 2). If you follow me on Instagram or TikTok you will likely notice another super cool giveaway going on (starting Jan 5) as well.

Caveat: I won’t be able to ship this giveaway until I get my hands on the actual paperbacks for Compelling Infinity. Printing and shipping have been a huge issue for the latter half of 2021 and I suspect that early 2022 will be more of the same. So please ignore the terribly photoshopped book cover!!

Archivist Release day swag box: three autographed paperbacks, three giclee illustrations, a handknit gnome, and three bookplates.

Are you interested in winning this Archivist Release Day Swag Box? Aka three autographed Archivist paperbacks, three limited-edition, autographed giclee illustrations by Nicole Deal, a gnome knit by MCD, and three bookplates?

Yes?!

To enter please comment below with your favourite character or scene or line (and WHY it is your fav) from any of the Archivist books.

Yes, that means you need to have read at least one of the Archivist books to enter. But since I gave the first one away for free (on numerous occasions) that should be an easy requirement to fulfill. And that should also mean that a true fan – aka readers who would actually want the prints, etc – will win the giveaway pack.

Notes/Rules: OPEN INTERNATIONALLY. One entry per person. One winner will be selected by random number generator. Only entries that follow the stated requirements will be valid. Email addresses are not collected for any purpose other than to contact the winner. No purchase necessary – all my books are available for free via your local library. The comments are moderated. I will approve your entry just as soon as I have a moment to do so.

Giveaway closes SUNDAY, JAN 9, 2022 at 8pm PST.

  1. Stayed up late reading the new Compelling Infinity. I enjoyed living in Dusk’s head so much in this one.
Favourite scene? Have to do a second read.
I adored Suanmi’s reaction to them and demand for introductions. Loved that she referred to Kellan as Shapeshifter instead of Wolf. Sissy’s delight in Kellan’s transformation.

  2. “I’m not prey. I’m not to be hunted.” “Oh…” He flashed me a smile full of all sorts of promises. “I’m not hunting.”

The slow burn is incredible… when they finally kissed I (may have) cheered out loud. 😂💗
Let’s be honest though. I adore everything about this series…from the gnome in the greenhouse, the slow burn with Kellan, Infinity’s magic, Dusk’s growth through the books. All of it. Magic!

“I just knew in my heart, in the very essence that made me, sustained me, that my secrets were the kind that destroyed trust.”

  3. My favorite character is Infinity (aka Finny) Infinity is more than a book/journal. It manages content and objects. It retrieves pertinent information and objects. Probably, most importantly, it is a sentinel and protector for its partner, Dusk.

  4. I can’t pick a favorite but a couple that stick with me are the way she immediately stands up for that poor imp and lays down the law in the office altercation helps show an aspect her true character and makes you feel for her. And of course as she makes the discovery of the eggs and the hope for some sort of silver lining in the aftermath.

  5. My favorite scene is more sentimental that took place between Dusk and Sisu (sorry I love both of them) as they have a serious conversation over oranges in the greenhouse of their new home in Ireland. When Dusk feels so properly unable to provide for her little brother and ask if he wants to stay with her or go back to their family’s estate with all he knows especially the Brownies who could care for him but how he tells her no that he wants to remain with her. True innocent and honest love between them.

  6. Dusk is my favorite character (although I love all of them). I admire her tenacity and devotion to Sisu. She will do anything to keep him safe. I haven’t read the new one quite yet. It just appeared in my kindle. Thank you!!!

  7. Jade was my first love and will always remain my favorite. I mean, c’mon, chocolate and cupcakes? What is not to love? And throw in cool shoes too!

  8. Jiaotu! I love how he shows his love for Sisu in his own dragon way by teaching him how to sword fight and taking him on adventures!

  9. Sisu is by far my favourite character of the series. Though so young, he provides a great viewpoint of the Archivist world. As a collections manager and archivist myself, the entire series speaks to me!

  10. Difficult difficult…. Hmmmmm…… I like it when the save the imp eggs. It’s really sad when it dies and Dusk has had a bad day really and it’s a hopefull scene. I also like when they eat the oranges from the gnome 😂 I think it’s these sort of scenes than balance the exciting ones and flesh out the characters and make such good stories.

  11. Oh this is so fun. I cant wait to get started on the new book. I would love to participate in the raffle. for the scenes I love all the steamy scenes between Dusk and Kellan, and hope there will be more in book 2. As for character I love Ravine, she is such great bestie material I want to meet her in person. upfront ,uncomplicated and lots of fun.

  12. I like them all, but the the part that made me really smile, was when Dusk, and Sisu went into Oslo, and he saw the labels in front of all the treats, and said “The treats have all been indexed!” Can’t wait to read the next one!

  13. I have to say that my fave character is sisu and the house. He’s a curious mix of kid and super hero and I think the house has more to show

  14. A favorite moment- at the end of book 1, when Kellan mentions not liking kids, but liking Sisu, and Sisu says “that’s nice.” Something about the matter of fact/perhaps glib/blunt way Sisu responds cracks me up without fail.

  15. Waiting until I have more than 15 minutes of spare time to devote to the new book- so I probably won’t read it until the weekend. Not a problem; I know Dusk and Sisu will be waiting for me. I’m really enjoying the new house (manor?). It’s so cool to learn about it as it wakes up and responds to and reinforces Dusk’s magic.

  16. One of my favourite scenes is actually the train ride and visit to the cafe where dusk does the experiment with the iPad and Infinity. It really laid the groundwork for her feelings and worries about her brother, her mother, her vocation, etc. I especially felt the worries for her brother being without their mom. It’s from the first book, but it’s stuck more firmly in my mind because I read it a few times waiting for the next one! The next book builds on the theme, but the first one did such a great job laying the emotional foundations for the more complicated plot that is building. I can’t wait to read the newest one! I’m going to save it for an upcoming workday this week that is typically very slow (because then I won’t be interrupted every five minutes by my young kids ;P)

  17. I absolutely love the gnome that has to be complemented in order to get one of its wonderful fruits. Love this whole universe that you have created!

  18. I am loving Sisu’s energy, and the fact that he has such wild emotions, from exuberantly happy to fearful and wanting protection. So cute.

  19. I absolutely love Dusk as a character – she’s confident but so open to learning and new experiences and doesn’t let anyone mess with her (based on the first books, Compelling is still waiting for me).

  20. One of my favorite characters so far is Everyone! Oh my gosh how do I narrow it down? But I’m really looking forward to the house waking up and all the shenanigans I think that will bring… maybe more fun creatures? I love the hints in the first two stories about waking the house up.

  21. I love Ravine’s sassiness (you never know what she’s going to say next, only that it will make you laugh and he insightful at once), I adore Sisu sand his big energy and can’t wait to see what he’s going to get up to with the twins, the house and his dad. But Dusk has my heart, she’s so real and I can’t wait for my emotions to go up and down along with her as her story unfolds! Thank you Meghan for creating yet another amazing piece of this world.

  22. Its not so much a character but the relationship between Sisu and Dusk. I love how much they treasure each other but also how hard she fights to preserve their sibling relationship rather than trying to be his mom. I can’t wait to warch thay develop.

    1. While I adore all the characters as I contemplating my favourite I’ve realised that I read this series looking forward to the scenes with Sisu the most. He just breaks the tension in the most adorable 5 year old immortal dragon way. What’s not to love about him?

  23. My favorite character is Sisu, I just love how he reminds me of my children sometimes. He’s playful and curious about things. The times that I mention him they think I’m talking about Raya, but I tell them this is a much better story.

  24. I have the new book, but can’t start reading it! 😔 I reread 0 and am only ¾ through rereading 1. Actually, Alexa is reading it to me while I work, since it doesn’t have an Audible version yet.

I think my favorite “character” is the house. I love how it’s waking up and is sort of sentient, knowing what they need, like drying Dusk off when she was soaked from the rain. The gnome and the greenhouse are kind of included in the waking up. My house should be that accommodating. 😉

Happy New Year and I wish you sales through the roof! 💜

  25. I, too, am intrigued with Infinity. Sentinent? maybe? Dragon rought? maybe? Why did it come from Jiatu and not her mother? questions, questions and more questions. So the quote would be the one “Did I kill Infinity?”

    1. My fave would be Dusk. I love her common, everyday attitude of whatever a dragon would or wouldn’t do. To have that much confidence in yourself, even though you’re afraid, is refreshing.

  26. Sisu and Dusk… I love them both and it’s hard to choose. Their close knit relationship just warms me and how she bolsters him so much and how he strives to protect her. I love when they first get to their new home and he’s charging thru with his sword… and how he discovers the life in their new home. Not sure how to describe it. You amaze me with how you bring this all to life.

  27. YAY for Release Day! Can’t wait to get home from work and read it!

I have to say that Dusk is definitely my favorite character, although, the relationship betewen her and Kellen is even more my favorite. I love that she’s a strong character – maybe as strong as Jade and Emma, and that she is also compassionate and funny as well.

  28. I love Dusk and Sisu but can’t wait to find out what Morgan is going to get into. Who will she lure in to play chess?

    1. I love this new series! My favourite scene was when they combed/picked out the imp eggs from Dusks hair. That was such a hopeful, hopeful scene. After the death of the imp, which made me cry sad tears, this scene made me cry tears of happiness. My fav characters so far have to be Sisu and the twins. They are so mischievous, you know they’re going to have some wild adventures! Can’t wait to read this latest instalment.

  29. It’s so hard to choose a favorite. I really like Sisu. So cute and brave. But the thought of having my very own Infinity is definitely appealing. So let’s call it a tie.

  30. I love Dusk but I think Susu is my favourite. He has such a fun spirit, and he really takes after his dad in the way he charges off with his sword!

  31. I liked Kellan’s handwriting. Well formed, readable, but not fancy. The thick, steady strokes indicated a firm …

    What was I doing?

Who got turned on by handwriting?

    Other than me, obviously.

So far, this tickled my funny bone!

    1. “You are enough, Rook Byrne,” he pronounced. “It may be harder for you. But with training, you will always be enough.” And now I’m crying, good tears, but still crying…at work😬
I had to add one more quote!

  32. I absolutely love Dusk and her affinity and respect toward the smaller creatures or ones considered “nuisances” (the imp) or “lesser” (the brownies and garden gnome). She knows their importance!

  33. I really enjoy that Dusk doesn’t allow anyone to bully her. The intro scene where she meets her new co workers is definitely a favorite. It shows she is a leader and doesn’t take bullshit, but she isn’t mean about it.

  34. Sisu 8s my favorite. He reminds me of my own “trouble on two feet”. And he is so very loving that he just melts my heart.

  35. One of my favorite parts is the gnome, because it gave me nostalgic feels about fantasy books I read growing up.

  36. I can’t wait to read book3! I am so bad at remembering scenes and such. I just love diving into the book and loosing reality for a bit. Thank you for being an amazing author

  37. I love Dusk and how she has taken responsibility for Sisu. She has taken a new job, a new home and still her first priority is her brother. Sisu would be my next favorite he is a 5yr old Warrior Dragon. Love them all. Thank you for writing an amazing story where we can escape for a little while.

  38. I love Dusk. Her devotion to her family and life in general. She takes on her new life like a champ. She loves her brother unconditionally.

    1. I love ALL the characters but Jade is my absolute favorite. She is just so cool! I love that she makes cupcakes and can take care of business without blinking an eye. She is the kindest, most loving person. She just makes me feel so “cozy”. Crazy, but that’s how I feel. I’ve read all the books twice now and am looking forward to reading them again. Absolutely love every book! Meghan is definitely my favorite author. She rocks!

  39. “Luck is mostly hard work, with a little bit of Magic mixed in” Sisu is such a wild, light-hearted boy with such innocence and unique, deep insight into the world.

  40. Well I have a couple favorite scenes so far…
The coffee shop scene, and her thoughts about Infinity also when Sisu first meets the house.
Lunch will not come fast enough, I am eager to start reading the new one. Thank you!

  41. Ohhh!!! It’s hard to pick! The coffee shop scene is a favourite – I love the way you conveyed the sheer delight of selecting a delicious treat from a coffee shop counter. And right now it makes me long for the days when we could all sit and work in cosy coffee shops 💔💔💔💔💔

  42. “I was also hoping to browse as many bookstores as I could before my younger brother’s patience ran out. Unfortunately, the five-year-old fledgling dragon was better known for his exuberant — and ultimately destructive — tendencies rather than his attention span.” If you replace “my younger brother” with “my son”….. Sums up part of my life.

  43. I’m beginning to think that Owen might be my fave. He seems so steady but has this humor that he keeps tamped down a little bit.

  44. This is a hard question. I tend to favor the strong female characters so Dusk and Ravine tend to get my vote. However, I have a feeling that we might be surprised at some point by our less obvious, yet strong Pine witch as she gains more confidence and joins the category of strong female characters.

  45. I really like Dusk. I love how she keeps kind of pushing Infinity’s new quirks to the back of her mind, something to worry about another day. I also adored how she just fired the witch that killed the imp. But one of my absolute favourite things about her is how she knows she’s supposed to be acting like a witch but she respond to situations as a dragon, like protecting and defending the world is more important than keeping her secret. Her mumbling latin afterwards always makes me smile.

  46. By far, Sisu is my favorite! The joy he expresses in everything he does is so refreshing. And he is definitely all boy! One of my favorite Sisu moments is when he launches himself out of Kellen’s arms, and back flips to Dusk.

I literally squealed this morning when I saw that book two was downloaded to my kindle! What an amazing giveaway you’ve put together! Thank you for your generosity! Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a book I need to go read!

  47. It’s difficult to pick a favorite line, I love the three books so much, but this is one I love in the new book : “But, Dusk, there’s a magical octopus on your shoulder.”

    It made me laugh.

  48. I don’t think I could pick a favourite scene, there’s to many that I love! I really like Morgan, the way she interacts with Dusk, and all her knowledge is fascinating

  49. “You’re fired!” What a way to begin “Invoking Infinity!” I read that section 3 times before moving on and still dream of dealing with a few nasty colleagues that way….

  50. “Don’t worry,” I said, stepping through the gate. “I collect magical creatures.”
    Kellan huffed. “Collect?”
“Oh yes. I currently have a death goddess in my backpack.”

Dusk: another powerful, capable and endearing character to follow in this captivating adept universe.

  51. Congrats on another release day
I down loaded at midnight last night.

I’m intrigued by the idea of magic bricks moving like a box puzzle to open a hidy hole. I love sliding box puzzles and to be able to do it large size is cool.

  52. Happy Release Day to you.

Fav scean is from Awakening Infinity. Where Sisu and Dusk meet after her summons with the Guardians concluded. Sisu launches himself from his fathers shoulder at Dusk. She drops Infinity and catches him.

The trust, devotion and love they have for each other is perfectly represented. 🥰 It brings back memories of when my little brother used to run into my arm when I came home from work.

    1. Hi Meghan. I enjoy all your books. One of the scenes I truly enjoyed was Sisu ,Neve and Lile finding and helping get the toothfairy imp eggs out of Dusk’s hair.
      Thanks for great reads.

  53. So excited to get home & start reading!!!! I love all your characters from all your books – seriously!
Dusk is my current fav – because she’s so much more than she knows yet… she is tough when she needs to be but so kind & tender as well.
Would love to win the give-away, either way I win because you’re still writing!

  54. My favorite character is Kellan Conall

Why? He’s hot, he’s interesting, and he’s definitely mysterious. I hope we find out more about him in Compelling. Which I don’t want to begin just yet because – in the front pages of Compelling Infinity you mention there’s a short story, A Momentary Retrieval. Where can I purchase it? Where can I read it.

    1. I have Archivist 1.5 away to my newsletter subscribers in Nov. If you are subscribed you can find it in the archives. It will also be published with a collection of shorts in Moments of the Adept Universe 1. Just as soon as I get three more shorts back from the editor.

  55. “I watch over eggs. – G”

I love the relationship being built with the creatures of the Estate. Showing the building of respect and trust.

  56. Congrats on another great read! My first read through, I loved Infinity winking at Kellan. That just absolutely tickled me! My favorite character, if I had to pick just one, is the house. It’s awakening and growing. Fascinating!

  57. I can’t pick a favourite moment or character. Especially after reading Compelling Infinity. But I think one of the things that cracked me up most was when Cove told Dusk they had hoped she would be the one for Ravine.
Just makes me laugh so much and Dusks utter awkwardness in the whole scene. Fantastic, I completely feel her discomfort and confusion the whole time.

  58. I love the line, “Who got turned by handwriting?” In Compelling Infinity as Dusk admires Kellan’s handwriting because little things can turn people or adepts on, lol.

  59. Kellan would be my fav: “Because Kellan Conall might have been imposing in construction gear. Maybe even ruggedly handsome wearing a sweater and jeans. But in a tuxedo, he was devastation. Utter wanton devastation.” How could you not love him.

  60. I loved when they, Dusk and Sisu, first saw the house and all the amazing details you shared about it. The library and Dusk’s office, and the desk. I loved when the phone rang and Pearl was there to welcome her as a Godfrey. I love houses and history. Thanks for the opportunity to win all of the goodies. ❤️

  61. I love the moment near the beginning of archivist 0 when sisu wraps up the half of his sister’s treat that he didn’t eat and puts it in her bag and touches her cheek with is crumby/sticky hand. It’s just so easy for me to picture a younger sibling doing that and it’s so sweet but hilarious especially since dawn knows sisu is still going to be the one to eat it later but he’s being thoughtful in the moment. Just such a cute scene before things really get going.

  62. I LOVE the guardians and their bickering back and forth has always been hilarious to me but even more so in the archivist 0. I also love the fact that we are learning more about who they are in this series. I also enjoy the scenes with sisu because he reminds me of a younger drake. I’m an avid book nerd (kindle and hard copy) so I relate to Dusk in many ways and am excited to add this new series to my collection!

  63. As many people have said, this is a hard question.

My favorite scene was when Dusk came back from work to find the kids baking cookies and repairs happening to the house still. It spoke to me of the family aspect that Dusk and Sisu are beginning to discover. They’ve just had themselves for so long but the wolves are bringing them into the pack despite all the deception Dusk is forced to give them. Clearly, the pack knows there are things she’s hiding but for now its enough for them to know her and Sisu.

As a bonus, a close second for me is when Dusk and Sisu first arrive at the house and Sisu feels what the house needs. Running around the house to wake it up was hilarious and spoke to his innate connection to the world around him despite his shelteredness in his 5 years.

I’m so excited to see what happens in their next adventure. I’ll probably have to reread everything at some point soon. Thank you for creating a beautiful world for us Meghan!

  64. Dusk. Just her unwavering desire to protect and respect other living creatures, while so many others think those same beings are beneath them.

  65. The new book was so GOOD. SO GOOD. My favorite parts were Sparkle coming into her own power, Dusk’s joy in her life, Sisu as an anchor, and Dusk and Kellan finally kissing. But really I just loved everything about it. I swear, each new series you put out, I end up with a new favorite protagonist. Maybe it’s just that your writing is constantly leveling up (from a baseline of “favorite author”) but your books are the only ones I obsessively start (and usually finish) the day you release them, no matter how many other things I’m reading at the time. Thank you for your writing, and for who you are as a person, too!

  66. One of my favorite scenes is when Drake shows up and takes the kids through the sword ceremony. It was sweet and charming.

  67. I like the verbal views of the Kitchen and the rest of the work going on around the mansion. The children making pancakes with smiley faces is really cute. I am not more than a few chapters in as I am trying to savor the book! I also liked seeing Drake come to give lessons and the mention of Jade and Pearl.

  68. Cannot wait to read!! Wont buy until the weekend because if I do I will read it and I wont sleep

  69. I don’t have a favorite scene, but I do have favorite moments. <3
When Dusk gets home and makes coco with Rook. When Drake has the kids promise to train seriously for their confidence. When Dusk starts stamping the bone dagger around to get people to listen (she learned from the last book when they didn't listen, haha). The care and love between Dusk and Sisu melts my heart. The way Dusk gave Morgan and Sparkle homes. There are so many more rooms in Wilding Manor! How many more will be filled… XD

    Thank you!

    1. Welp, I forgot to put the why, I was distracted by all the great moments. My excuse anyway. I love the relationships between the characters and how they support each other because it’s a beautiful way to live. I’ve really been missing my family who live a days drive away, so I can’t just pop over for a visit. I live vicariously through your characters and hope I can show others the same support and love they give each other while still having healthy boundaries where they don’t loose themselves. Your characters are good role models for friendships and families. 🙂

  70. I have read the Dowser series 3 times now. Of course, I love Jade. But I am eternally intrigued by Kett and will be picking up the Reconstructionist series soon!

  71. I loved the Dowser series and the Reconstructionist series and have read both series multiple times. Now I can add this to my ever-growing piles of books to read over and over.

My favourite scene in this book is when Rook is worried about her power and her strength and Drake says to her ‘You are enough, Rook Byrne,’ he pronounces. ‘it may be harder for you. But with training, you will always be enough.’

Isn’t that the message we would all like to here and to give to people in our lives?

  72. All of the above? Seriously good writing throughout. Especially appreciate how Dusk respects and protects those “lesser” beings – good values at work. I appreciate her feelings when in the forward of Compelling she says how she hates the duplicity, feeling that good relations cannot be built on lies. Then at the end with Kellan, swoonworthy!

  73. “We’re tripping over our secrets.” I’m only halfway through, but this entire scene, from Dusk sealing the doorway through the slow burn that is Dusk and Kellan is giving me knots in my belly that I can’t wait to see (hopefully) resolved.

Also, Wilding Manor itself might be becoming one of my favorite characters. Acting as a butler, indeed.

  74. It’s so hard to just pick one but I think the Dusk and Kellan’s dance at the gala is my new favorite.

  75. Two bits from the new book. After Dusk reads Prince’s dedication – “The downside of my practically eidetic memory – I’d now never be able to forget that cloying sentiment.” literally had me laughing out load.
Also Sisu “But Dusk, there’s a magical octopus on your shoulder.”

  76. Even though it is in the beginning I love the interaction of Dusk and Sisu. You get a wonderful insight of both characters early on and it leaves you so excited to see how they will grow and what will happen. The joy of being in the human world and excitement ordering chocolate and tea while fitting in with the crowd is enthralling. The reaction of Infinity out in the world was a huge forecasting of things to come. So excited for this adventure.

  77. I love Dusk! I love how she is so protective of Sisu, how she is so motivated to work as an archivist and I love that she is concerned about having to lie/not tell the whole truth in the relationships she wants to establish. I actually really love all the characters that you have created. They really come to live for me in your books. Thanks!

  78. Loved the part with the octopus and Dusk being able to evaluate the situation and not just instantly try to kill the unknown magical being. Also happy they have added a Brownie to their household and saved her from a terrible existence/potential death.

  79. My favorite in Archivist is Dusk, because she reminds me a bit of myself…. however, in all Adept Universe, Kandy is just irreplaceable :)!

  80. I loved how Dusk and Sisu were so excited about the greenhouse having the gnome and how with her insistence on politeness she is instilling morals and values in this hugely powerful little dragon. It was a fun insight to their relationship.

  81. I like Sisu. He’s playful, loyal, powerful, and curious. I hope we get to see what he’s like as he grows older.

  82. One of my favorite parts is fromthe first book. “i realized that one of the nine most powerful beings int he world believed I needed a magical artifact of epic power to face the future I had just accepted. and even as trepidation soured my stomach, that was utterly thrilling.” I love all of the books in all of the series, and this being a new series, just amps up the excitement for what is to come and the worlds we are about to enter and the characters we are about to meet and love.

  83. It’s too hard to pick a favorite character or scene. I keep notes on my books so that I know which I have read, which authors I have read, and my opinions on such. I read the Archivist series through Invoking Infinity prior to reading any other book in the Adept Universe. I wrote that “the author writes very detailed scenes. I like her world and enjoyed the books.” Then, I read some Dowser, some Oracle, the Amplifier series, and a Reconstructionist. In preparation for the release of Archivist 2, I reread that series to date. My updated notes reads, “LOVED IT!” I’m a prolific reader and have kept book notes for more than 10 years. That’s the only LOVED IT that I have ever given. So, yeah, it’s too hard to pick one thing. In the interest of playing fair, I will say that Dusk, no Sisu, no (okay) Dusk is my favorite character because she is so authentically good. She is loving, caring, fierce, giving, smart…everything a heroine should be.

  84. A favorite character is Kellan. I love how he’s strong and powerful in his own magic but also works well with Gitta and the witches. How he acknowledges Dusk’s strength and follows her lead even when he doesn’t agree is so good! Note: I just finished rereading books 0 and 1 and am about to start book 2

  85. I haven’t gotten very far into the new book yet but…
The dragon nodded, taking in the twins and Rook. “And the sword master sent me. I am Drake.” And with that pronouncement, he pulled the golden broadsword, knelt down just over the threshold, and laid the thick blade across his bent knee. “I will make sure no black witch ever lays hands on you again.”
I LOVE LOVE LOVE crossovers and I love Drake.

  86. Thank you, Thank you. I love Compelling Infinity, I love the way Dusk is growing moving forward becoming more but still grounded and true to what makes her, her. I have only one small complaint, when i finish one of your marvellous books I want more , I know that is not fair and you work very hard to get these books our to us, but they are so good , and are so relaxing, a get away from so much in our lives today Again thank you so much for all you give of your time and talent.

  87. I am loving Compelling Infinity, and just read the scene in the cafe with the cranberry and orange bread. I am now looking for a recipe because I am craving a sandwich made of this bread.

  88. As always, you bring such amazing characters to life in your books that it is so difficult to choose a favorite!
I do love a strong female character though, so for now I have to say Dusk.
One of my favorite quotes is, “I’m not prey. I’m not to be hunted.” “Oh…” He flashed me a smile full of all sorts of promises. “I’m not hunting.”

    Love it!

  89. I’m still deciding about my fav character, but I loved the line Dusk delivered to Morgan: “You seem hard of hearing. An affliction that often affects elders.” after placing her in the tower. It’s so fitting for many of the elder characters – Morgan, Suanmi, Jiaotu, Ayre.

  90. It’s been a couple months since I read the last Archivist books so the specifics aren’t fresh in my mind (and let’s be honest, my kids are 4 and 6 and “mom brain” still comes on pretty strong. I can barely remember what I ate for breakfast lol). BUT, I really loved the scene when they first arrived at the house and Sisu was running around waking it up. I love the idea of the Manor being sentient in some way. It was also something I really liked about the Fairchild house in the Reconstructionist series. I’m looking forward to seeing how it continues to interact with the characters!

  91. My favourite character is Dusk, my favourite scene is from compelling infinity when Drake appears to do training with Sisu and the twins. It was a real squee moment for me 😊

  92. My favorite character is Dusk. I love a good main character. While all three stories have been amazing so far, my favorite scene was when Drake showed up for a training session. The connection to the Dowser series that I was hoping would grow after talking with Pearl, made me so happy.

  93. I like how the house/manor comes to life, and how ready it was to boot Mesa off the property at Sisu’s asking when Mesa was incredibly rude after Rook was rescued. And how Dusk didn’t allow it to escalate that way.

As others have said, it’s hard to pick one thing – the characters are each unique and compelling. This universe you have created is beautiful, at times sad, and loaded with powerful females (yay!).

  94. My favorite character is Susi. Bold, energetic, innocent, kind … what a fun and unique way to view the world. I would love to see a vision of the future to see who he becomes.

  95. My favourite character is Dusk, as she has the same love of books as I do. Hard to pick a particular scene, though how I imagine Wilding Manor does tend to make me jealous! She is living my dream! 🙂

  96. The first time Dusk tells Sisu that she loves him, because not only does she understand herself better with the declaration, but her mother as well.

  97. One of my fave scenes is when Dusk and Sisu are in the café in Oslo because it got me hooked on the series. They have an amazing and cute relationship that’s so fun and heartfelt to read, especially Dusk, who’s juggling being a sister and a stand-in for their mom (and not being sure if she’s doing enough for him). And I love how Sisu is with his food, especially grabbing the last dessert before they ran (I’d do the same lol!).
