GIVEAWAY CLOSED. WINNER: LUCKY #56 – Jennifer from Massachusetts, USA!
It’s my birthday today – yay!
I get as much enjoyment by giving a gift to someone else on the day of my birth as I do receiving a gift. Occasionally, I’ll buy a meal for a homeless person or take a group of friends out for brunch, but this year I wanted to collect a few of my favourite things – new and old – into one box and give them away to a lovely reader. Your support this year has been very welcomed and much appreciated!
Fun! Fun!
Without further ado, here are a few of my favourite things for 2015:
I had a great time putting this eclectic collection together. Clockwise from top left: felted wool dryer balls (handmade by MCD); three paperbacks from my favourite urban fantasy series: Magic Bites, Storm Front, and Moon Called; a Little Traveller pin; hand cream, foot cream, and lip balm from L’Occitane (I use these every day!); small-batch caramels from Scarlata (my favourite discovery from the Northwest Chocolate Festival 2015); and, of course, some Oracle Series tattoos.
Would you like to collect this box of favourites for your very own?
You would?
Okay then!

Well, first of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Second of all lovely giveaway, and third what I like the most of this year is how much I have been able to grow at my job, not necessarily in a position, but the way I do my job. Entry #2 – wow, that sounds like a fantastic year so far to me!! Thanks for sharing!

Entry #14 – it’s good that it’s a difficult choice. Means you’ve had a good year so far!
Happy Birthday! I see that we share a fav writer (Butcher). My favorite thing so far this year was a hug from my daughter, hadn’t seen her in 3 years. She lives in NYC, a cost prohibitive place to go from OKlahoma.
Entry #15 – Pam! I love that! <3
My favorite thing from 2015? My nephew. He wasn’t born this year, or any remarkable like that – but he makes everyone laugh, which is something we all desperately needed this year.
His favorite phrases are; “You’re not nice to me!” (In a totally snotty tone), and “FANKS!” (His version of thanks). Which of course, all of the adults have adopted.
With my dad discovering he has cancer, to passing away a month later, then my mom discovering a tumor, and a LOT of other crap, that little monster has been a bright spot for all of us. He’s the best part of 2015.
Entry #16 – thank goodness for him, Liz. Life often gives us specks of light in the dark, but we have to look for it.
Also, (obviously) happy freakin’ birthday! 😆👍🏻🍰🎂🎁🎉
<3 <3 <3
Happy Birthday Meghan! Hope you are getting lots of treats – you definitely deserve it! My favourite thing this year has been finding you!! I love your books and look forward to each new one! My favourite thing of 2015 is going on short breaks with my hubby around the UK.
We’ve discovered many little knooks and crannies and lovely towns and cities together. We’ve finally gotten to the age where we can go out and about discovering our country and appreciating our time together.
Last weekend we spent time in York. We visited York Minster cathedral and revelled in the beautiful architecture.
Also found a gorgeous fudge shop that sells it by the SLAB! Awesome. Many varied treats jumped into my handbag…..some yet to be consumed.
Entry #18 – sounds lovely!!

I have too many favorite things about 2015 (so far) to pick just one. So here’s a top 3.
1. Celebrated 20 years of marriage with my other half.
2. See my niece (who is unable to have children of her own) become a great foster mom to 2 natural brothers and getting to be a part of their lives.
3. Learning that I share a birthday with one of my davorite new authors that I discovered this year. 😉
Entry #22 – HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
Happy Birthday, Libra.
My favorite things that have happened this year (so far):
Going to my brothers wedding in Tacoma. It was beautiful. So nice to escape the Austin heat in August for a little while.
I went to Memphis for my 40th birthday (September 28) and I had a pumpkin pie soda ice cream float, which was amazing. I attended a music festival there.
As far as my favorite books go, I have thoroughly enjoyed finding the Kate Daniels series, the Dowser series and the books by Sarah Addison Allen. I’ve read all of the series and all of SAA’s books.
Pretty nerdy, but my library has limits on the numbers of ebooks you can check out, but because I’ve reviewed so many books my check out limit just increased from 5 to 10. Which is good because they also limit he numbers of books you can put on hold. That was pretty awesome. I read the first two books of the Dowser series through the library, that’s all they owned. I bought the other 3 and recommended through the overdrive account that my library purchase your other books.
Hope you have a great day!
Entry #23 – That is a great list of favourites! I’m glad you found me via Overdrive. I offer the books to libraries for free, they just have to download them. Thank you for recommending them!!
I almost never do these contests because I can’t pick my favorite quote from the books! So glad not to have to pick!
First of all: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I have had a wonderful year, all in all. My favorite part was when my husband returned from deployment. He’s been home for 6 months and it still feels like he was just gone yesterday. I’m so glad he’s home with myself and our 2 girls!

Entry #28 – lovely!
Happy birthday!!! My favorite thing so far this year has been time spent with family 🙂
Entry #29 – <3
My favorite thing from 2015 was starting school fulltime to become a Radiologic Technologist! Definitely a full committment that my husband has encouraged; and with 4 kids!!! I love to read and have to wait for breaks in semesters 🙁
Entry #30 – I have to wait for breaks to read as well. It’s not so bad. 🙂
Favorite thing of 2015? Discovering your books, I think! Crazy that I’ve also gotten interested in another books series with Jade as the protagonist’s name. I just LOVE losing myself in an alternate universe (or two or three)!!
Entry #31 – Fun!
*Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you!* My favorite thing about 2015 is almost everything about this year. My husband, “upgraded” my wedding ring, we were able to get him a new vehicle, my son started kindergarten, and my niece finally learned to say my name!
Entry #32 – sounds like a great year so far!
Let me be like the 100th person to say happy birthday lol, my favorite thing from 2015 So far is the fact that my foster daughter is FINALLY fully potty trained and my youngest daughter is almost potty trained….GOODBYE DIAPERS! HELLO…..more laundry
If my son will potty train this year it will top everything else. Haha
Lol my daughter TRIED (and I say that with immense pride seeing as how she poops like a dog in her room) to poop on the potty, made a huge mess but still had to commend the effort.
Entry #34 – Lovely!! LOL
This year has been full of wonder. Apr my 9 grand child was born. In July I found (on nook) Your magic series and I’m looking forward to the new book. I live on a small farm out side of Tacoma and due to the weather was able to donate farm fresh food to local food banks. Sept my son started college and is able to pay for it by himself. Oct 8 I turned 60 my husband gave me a full makeover and an 11 vacation those are just some of my highlights there are more but this is getting too long.
Entry #35 – that does sound like a great year so far!
Happy Birthday! I guess my favorite thing would be the memories of the times I got to spend with my mom watching the ducks at the care home before she passed.
Entry #36 – so lovely. I’m enjoying living closer to my Dad this year as well.
Happy birthday! May the chocolate be of high quality and rain down from the heavens 😉
Favorite things from this year: I always love my camping trips and being surrounded by nature. I practiced my baking skills and made a cake over the fire, and it was delicious. I made a chicken coop practically all by myself for my newly adopted chickens. For having no set plan and using scrap lumber, I say it turned out mighty fine, and has some pretty fancy features. My freebie espresso maker is the gift that keeps on giving. My morning coffee is on a whole new level now. Nothing beats steamed milk. And lastly, discovering a favorite new author who has a lovely series about one of my favorite hobbies, baking cupcakes 🙂
Entry #37 – There has indeed been a lot of birthday chocolate!! Okay, so cake on the fire is pretty damn cool. I baked cookies on the BBQ when the gas ran out last Feb, not as cool. LOL I got chicks at the very end of 2014! But Michael built our coop. I have 4 hens, 2 pullets and one rooster now. They aren’t happy with our recent move. They’ve even stopped laying in protest. 🙁
Happy Birthday, I hope this upcoming year is filled with joy, peace and prosperity. This year so far has been stressful. I am thankful for my friends, both old and new! Without them I would not laugh so much and get through the tough times!
Entry #38 – laughter, so, so important. I try to laugh at everything. Life is too difficult otherwise.
Happy Birthday! Kuddos to you for giving to others!! My favorite part of 2015 is getting to read the new dowser book. Absolutely LOVED IT!! You are one of my favorite authors and I can’t wait for another book!!!!!!!
Entry #39 – <3
Happy Birthday, Megan! 😀 Thank you for the giveaway!
My favorite thing so far this year has been the driving experience. I’m having driving classes and I am almost ready for the exam. I was afraid I wouldn’t like to drive or even be scared… But as it turns out, driving is awesome! Can’t wait to get my license 🙂
Entry #40 – yes, it’s amazing how the idea of driving is so scary but then actually doing it is a breeze. I wish more of life was like that. HA!
Happy Birthday! 2015, my new horse Wunder, Lucerne Dark Chocolate milk and for my awesome neighbours, who let me cut their hay this year for free, even though hay was 3 times the amount it was last year because of the drought!
Entry #41 – wow, nice neighbours indeed! Raising horses must be incredible but I know it can also be stressfully expensive.
My favorite thing this year would have to be the birth of my second son in August! I would share the cuteness but can’t attach pictures.
Hope you have a Happy Birthday
Entry #42 – I hate that not being about to attach pictures to blog comments easily thing. You have to have them uploaded someone else … then you can attach them as a URL and they show up here. Sigh. CONGRATS though!!
Happy birthday! Reading is my favorite pasttime and your series are on top on my reading lists. In 2015, I would like to add life! Happy Birthday!!!. And thank you this is a wonderful Idea. My favorite things about 2015. I eloped in February in Banff. it was great and lots of fun. My sister got married in August and brought the entire family together and everyone got along for the first time in over 20 years…I found out about bookbub. which introduced me to Cupcakes, trinkets and other deadly magic. which I loved so much I had to get the all the others in the series. I finished them all in three weeks. I very much look forward to the next one… there’s still plenty of 2015 left and I can’t wait to see what it brings.
Entry #47 – Banff! So beautiful (but expensive). Bookbub! So fun (and inexpensive). 😀

Happy Birthday – My favourite thing from 2015 is discovering a wonderful new series of books 🙂
Entry #49 – 😀 Ah, flatterer. 😀
Happy Happy Birthday!!! My favorite thing so far this year has been Biotene Moisturizing mouth spray. Sounds crazy but I live in the desert in Lake Havasu City Arizona and my mouth is ALWAYS dry! This stuff is awesome!
Entry #50 – oh, interesting! I feel like I dry out like crazy when I go to LA (or south at all, LOL). Thanks for the tip!!
Happy Birthday! My favorite thing from 2015 is that I hiked my first 14er Mount Bierstadt!
Entry #51 – very cool! Friends of ours did one of the peaks [eta: Mount Whitney] in Yosemite National Park this year. They had to start at 2am!! And I think it took 18 hours? CRAZY.
Ours wasn’t that bad we started at 7 am and it took about 6 hours but well worth it!
They are getting geared up to do Kilimanjaro next year!!
That sound awesome!
Sounds
Happy Birthday Meghan.
My favourite thing is a Nine West beach bag covered in pictures of pineapples. It has a beautiful braided handle. So fancy. So nice. Such a deal on clearance for $22. It is silly but I just want to use it all the time!

Happy Birthday, indeed! Always appreciate your birthdays because, statistically, the more you have the longer you’ll live. I think my favorite thing about 2015 meeting new friends and acquaintances.

The best thing that has happened to me this year was quitting my job back in March & getting out of a bad situation. Being blessed that I haven’t worked since because it has given me the opportunity to help out family members, getting back into cooking/baking for others & creating new recipes; as well as reading all the amazing books out there.
I just wanted to share. I already own all of the books (some of my favs too) so please don’t count me in the giveaway.
Again happy birthday & have a FANTABULOUS day!

Entry #67 – <3
Hope you are having a blessed and wonderful birthday, this box full of goodies is AMAZING!
The past few months have been heart wrenching and difficult to say the least. My entire family has had to endure the pain of losing my 16 year old niece, my father suffered a massive stroke and will have to remain in a long term care facility, and the loss of an uncle as well.
So to find something positive about 2015, is difficult at best. However, through all this heartbreak, I have always found comfort in your stories … finding YOU, as an amazing author and storyteller was my “happy place”.
Thank you for your gifts!! Please keep them coming. ♡ HUGS ♡
Entry #68 – I’m so sorry, Melissa. That is a lot for one year, that’s a lot for five years!! I’m glad I can offer you a tiny bit of a reprieve. Lots of love and light!
Happy Birthday, Meghan! What a wonderful box of goodies. If you like Patricia Briggs, you might like the Written in Red series by Anne Bishop? Can you still read others’ books without your writer self taking over and getting analytical? I only write math lessons, so fiction is still completely fun for me. My favorite thing in 2015 was that we got to be together with both grown children for a vacation. I feel blessed that they take time out of their busy lives to go places with us. Looking forward to your next book!
Entry #70 – okay, just looked up Written in Red. I hadn’t heard of it so I just grabbed the sample pages – thank you! I usually know within a couple of pages if I’m just going to be able to read a book. It has nothing to do with ‘good’ or ‘bad’ writing just the story and whether or not it draws me in. But I’m being more brutal lately. If I don’t absolutely love the sample pages I don’t buy the book. My reading time is precious to me, because I generally only read in-between writing books. And I pretty much write books full time, so I have to take time off to read. It’s a vicious circle.
Happy Birthday!!!!!
My favorite thing so far this year was last weekend, which I spent with my husband celebrating our third wedding anniversary! Aside from the rarity of having 3 full days to spend together, we ate a lot of delicious food and chocolate (of course).
Entry #71 – lovely!!
Happy Birthday to you!!! My favorite thing is answered prayer daughter got a job (a good one to boot). Single mom with 2 kids and was rough for first 7 months but all is well 🙂
Entry #72 – ah, good!!
My favorite things if 2015 have been growth in my job, becoming better at work/life balance, and reconnecting with family at a summer wedding in Alaska!!

Entry #74 – Lovely! There are many things more important than $$ and that is definitely one of them. Makes for tough, but good times.
I was laid off from a job I’d had for ten years–most miserable job ever. After looking for two months, I got hired at a WONDERFUL company that I am planning on staying at for the rest of my life. The benefits are worth it and my fellow employees and bosses are AWESOME!!
Happy Birthday Meghan!!!!
Entry #75 – Cindi! Glad to hear it!!

happy birthday!!!! My favorite thing from 2015 ( I’ll be selfish here an exclude all my proud mom moments) was finally getting the time to divulge in good reading! It’s been so long since ice taken the time for myself and as luck would have it I feel in love with your Dowser series and the Oracle! You’re the only writer I’ve ever followed on any social media or pre ordered books…..and in the past I have read a tremendous amount of books!!
Entry #83 – I’m glad you took some time for yourself this year!! 😀 The entire social media landscape has deficiently changed. Even in just the last two years. I LOVE preordering books now, but never thought to do so in the past. Glad I’m on your favs list.!!

He did the Percy Jackson, Olympian and Egyptian series. I like how he plays and actualizes the old tales to be realistic in a modern day setting. While explaining things that were otherwise hard to comprehend.
Yes! I looked him up as soon as you mentioned the series. I’ve never read anything by him. Crazy, huh? I guess with all the time in the world … And I love all the mythology stuff. Comes from studying theatre intently in University, with a minor in English.
Agreed on the mythology. Its great to see how different people play it, how they work it out, and how it works in their worlds.

Well besides dowser#5 😜 my favorite chocolate bar discovery is the spicy coconut milk one (which brand I will post in a reply to this cuz I can’t remember right now 😣) but the small chocolates from Italy that I got in NYC were really good too, melt in your mouth and one had pistachios 😄
& on a personal note I was a bridesmaid in (one of)my best friends wedding a couple weeks ago tho I was super sick with a sore throat and congestion but it was larping themed so I had a handmade renaissance dress & everything was fun & nerdy 😜 I made the favors which I had to pour chocolate into molds to get characters to add on top of red cherry nerds & black candy coated chocolate Sixlets. Forgot to send u the pic lol.
October birthday awesome if u love Halloween lol. My boyfriends bday was the 7th but he isn’t as into the holiday as me, I’ve got my zombie earrings in for work and he’s like Ahhh they look like voodoo dolls 😑
