I’ll give you three guesses …

… but you’ll only need one.

I just finished something.

My right hand is aching so fiercely I can barely type this, and my fingers are covered in green ink.

My brain feels like mush. I really need a heavy dose of chocolate and to bake something, stat.

I’m also off-the-wall pleased with myself.

Can you guess what has me feeling this way?

How about a visual hint?

  1. I just finished dowser book 4…. Loved it! Can not wait for number 5! So glad it is coming out this spring:)

    1. I wish it were that easy … First you’d have to be able to read my writing … Then there would be all these WTH? moments because my spelling it awful, etc. LOL

  2. How about something like Maps, Guardians, and other Strange Magic or Compelling Magic. Just a thought. If she’s going on another quest, then it could be Map, Quest and other Compelling Magic. As you can see I have been thinking about the next book, and thought this might get your writing juices working on the title.Love all of your books. I’ve read all of them.😊

    1. Yeah, I think book six will definitely have dragon and/or guardian in the title. Book Five is tentatively titled Maps, Artifacts, and Other Insidious Magic … But I’m not a 100% sure … I was thinking of replacing Artifacts with Relicts, and I’m not totally happy with the rhythm change of Insidious.

I think I need to line all the titles up and say them out loud … And the second draft of the novel will solidify the Artifact/Relict thing for me.

      Good suggestions, though! Thanks!

  3. When someone is looking for a book to read, they skim through them, and usually pick up one with an intriguing title. The titles you are considering are definitely intriguing. Insidious magic is perfect. It flows off your tongue, and sounds so much more superior than a synonym, such as Treacherous Magic would. As far as Artifact or Relic goes, you have to look to your subsequent novel as well, since you always start the title with the second word of your previous title. So, is this object, and the next one Jade has to find in book 6, made by man (an artifact), or someTHING(relic) from the past. Artifact, in my opinion, sounds better, if that’s what it is, but Relic works either way. Ultimately it has to sound right to you. And now that I’ve finished my lecture, I’ll put my retired teacher fingers to rest, and not bother you again. Once a teacher always a teacher.lol Can’t wait to buy all your next books no matter what the titles are.😀

    1. I really wanted to use Relic (that was my long term plan), but Artifact fits much better (and doesn’t carry the religious overtones). Insidious was Michael’s suggestion (being a songwriter he is great at titling) and he choose it for a specific reason that you will most likely figure out when you read the book – since you seem adept at reading into the titles 🙂 Unless, I’m inspired in another direction when writing the second draft I imagine that will be the title. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated!

  4. So excited for Dowser 5 and Oracle 2. How much longer before they come out? I’m going through withdraws and I only just barely finished Dowser 4 a couple of hours ago! LOL

    1. I’ll have a better idea of the release date once I get Dowser 5 off to the editor, then I’ll firm it up when I get it back and see his notes. I’m still hoping for a June release. But with everyone’s schedules coming into play, that might be getting tight now.

September or October for Oracle 2.

      Thanks for asking!.,
