And it’s definitely deep. Something you can think about when things aren’t always going your way. What are you going to learn? Great books. Can’t wait for the next one.

I struggled with the well of emotion a bit longer, then finally gave into the tears, allowing them to stream silently down my cheeks. I banged my head lightly back against the tree trunk and gritted my teeth. “I hardly knew him,” I finally cried. My voice was far too loud in the stillness of the trees. “He had that effect on people,” Desmond murmured, but he still didn’t look at me. He didn’t seem uncomfortable; more respectful than judgmental.

My favorite quote is from Dowser #2. Jade sees Desmond in his cat form and his nakedness for the first time and she thinks to herself, “the hair on his head was darker than his tawny cat fur, but a similarly colored dusting of hair covered his chest, down his insane abs, and through to his… Well. I seriously hoped he was a shower, not a grower, because… err…. for his girlfriend’s sake of course… not me-“. To my surprise, this lead to the steamiest make out session of any book I have read. Which was one of my favorite moments from the series, but I also chose this quote because it shows Jade’s bold personality. She is my favorite fictional character. Jade is such a badass female lead, and a feminist. She is even a bit perverted (which I love). Her sexual comments out of the blue make her so much more charming, real, and relatable. I want to be Jade’s best friend which is not something I normally feel towards book characters. Thanks for creating such an amazing and dynamic character, Meghan. Also, thank you for these steamy scenes. I would love a full on sex scene in the next book… A girl can hope. 😉 Regardless, I can’t wait to get my hands on Dowser 5.

  35. July 15, 2015 10:26 PM

Oh man, there are so many good quotes because these are such fantabulous books!!! Since Shadows, Maps, and other Ancient Magic (Dowser #4) is the most recent book I have read I am going to have to quote from that.

    Between Desmond and Jade:
    “I absolve you,” he said.
That stopped me in my tracks. “Excuse me?”
    “You heard me.”
“What, are you a priest now?” (-Love this line!!!-)
He glowered at me, clenching and unclenching his hands. “Imaging strangling me isn’t going to help with whatever lame diplomacy you’re going for, Desmond.”
He growled. A low rumble that spread through the entranceway. I swear I could feel the granite tiles vibrating underneath my bare feet.
“You invaded my home – ”
“You thought I invaded your home.”
“Who was that dragon?” He didn’t mean Pulou or Qiuniu. He’d already met or seen both of them in Tofino ten moths ago.
He couldn’t figure out if he wanted to strangle me for almost getting Kandy killed, or whether he wanted to own me. He was still jealous. Jesus, shapeshifters and their freaking territory issues. (-Love this sentence too!!!!-)
