Editor’s notes and callbacks between series …

Keep me on your thoughts, please. I’ve just gotten the editor’s story notes back on Conduit 4, so I’ll spend the afternoon digging through them. Occasionally, my aprés-reading ‘feelings’ require a rather large dose of chocolate and some couch/knitting time to process.

I usually do two full reading passes of SFG’s (aka the editor) notes – with a day in-between – to let them really sink in before I start making changes/additions, etc. So that will be my next two afternoons, and I’ll continue working on Misfits 2 in the mornings.

Apparently, I’m working at the kitchen table today. Mostly because Michael built me a fire this morning and I’ve been lured closer.

This week, I’ve been fleshing out Kandy’s book, and have now woven in a plot point callback to Oracle 2. For those of you who like those sorts of things, you are welcome. And, for the rest of you, happily prior knowledge is not needed to enjoy the book. I just love indulging tiny little bits like that when working in an interconnected universe. Also, most of you have likely already noted that lots of background will filter through from all the stories in Moments 1, including Audrey’s short and possibly the twins (Gabby and Peggy).

I still haven’t settled on the identity of the sorcerer character I mentioned needing in the previous blog post (here). I’d love to use Henry Calhoun – first mention in the novels: Oracle 2, but also appeared in Moments 1 with the twins – but his ties to Kandy and therefore the North West Coast pack don’t make him a ‘neutral’ enough character.

I’ll post the next Kandy (aka Misfits 2) scene on Friday – warning it’s ‘not safe for work’ reading. 😜

Okay … digging into the editor’s Conduit 4 notes in 3 … 2 … 1 … see you on the other side, likely with a large mug of hot chocolate in hand.
