Synopsis: If you’d asked me a week ago, I would have told you that the best cupcakes were dark chocolate with chocolate cream cheese icing, that dancing in a crowd of magic wielders — the Adept —  was better than sex, and that my life was peaceful and uneventful. Just the way I liked it. That’s what twenty-three years in the magical backwater of Vancouver will get you — a completely skewed sense of reality. Because when the dead werewolves started showing up, it all unraveled … except for the cupcake part. That’s a universal truth.

GOODREADS

“Witches, werewolves and vampires…oh my! Cupcakes, Trinkets, and Other Deadly Magic is a fun-filled trip into a world where bad magic can get a good witch down and power isn’t always accessed through hard work and determination … sometimes it’s stolen.” – Headshot Heather, doubleshotreviews.com

“This was a fun, action filled urban fantasy that will also have you running to bake cupcakes! … and I loved the unpredictability of not knowing what would happen next.” – Sarah, Sarah Elizabeth’s Bookshelf

“The mystery and suspense build up to a riveting and mind-blowing conclusion that shows Doidge as the brilliant riddler that she is. A definite five star even without the mouth-watering cupcake teasers. More please!” – Cindi Clubbs, Mommasez…blog, www.ccclubbs.com

“Complete with witches, werewolves, vampires, and necromancers, this novel will keep readers laughing and turning the pages as Jade tries to figure out the truth behind the deaths surrounding her—the deaths that all point to her. ” – Shana, A Book Vacation

  1. Just found the free first volume of the Dowser series and enjoyed it more than I expected to. It reminds me of the All Souls Trilogy written by Deborah Harkness. Her series is also about a female witch meeting an older Male Vampire. I love that your series was set in Vancouver rather than the USA. I love in Toronto so I firmly support Canadian authors and I love reading novels set in Canada. when I get some money I will eventually buy the rest of the series.

    1. So, so glad you gave Dowser 1 a try and enjoyed it! Remember to subscribe to my mailing list to get the Dowser Cookbook PDF and (if you are interested) there is a reading g order in the beginning of each book. 😀

  2. Yes, I am new to the series. I enjoyed your book immensely. It may not be everyone’s preferred subject but I found it well written, smart and funny! Thank you for this enjoyable book.

  3. Great Series. Started the 1st on December 9th, then went into a binged all the others and today I start Unleashing Echoes.

1st reason – I’ve enjoyed this series is I really like the main characters and their friends. I’ve found for me, if I don’t like the people I’m reading about I don’t enjoy the story. Your characters are complex with flaws but they care and they are trying to do what’s right, which is not always easy.

Plus each Main character saw the world through their experiences. The idea that Jade and Rochelle see Blackwell differently because they have interacted with him differently is great and definitely, for me, gave them life.

2nd reason – Story. The story in each book kept my interest from beginning to end and the humor found was refreshing and, while I don’t care about sex in a story, you didn’t make the sex more important than the story so it did a good job of enhancing both the story and characters.

It’s been a while since I’ve binged a book series. Feels good. Thank you.
